Fun Activities For Team Building

When do we need team building? The easy answer is, if a person is not meeting his physical, emotional, financial and spiritual requirements, his performance and attitude will suffer and in turn the business suffers. That is the reason why most of the corporate gives importance to the recreational need of his employees and plans team building games/courses for them.

High Ropes Course

A High Ropes Course is a difficult team building and personal development activity. This course can be indoor or outdoor activity. This course consists of both vertical and horizontal obstacles. The obstacles are constructed from wood, ropes and cables set up above the ground and strung between trees, wood poles or steel framework.

Types of High Ropes Courses

Maze High Rope Course- This type is also called as Static course, which allows the complete group or a set of participants to experience the ropes course together. All elements are linked together.

Dynamic High Rope Course- In dynamic course only one participant goes up the ropes and completed the activity. Meanwhile, the group can focus on that one person.

Also, you can select from wide options of high ropes course elements like, Balance board, Burma Bridge, Cargo net, Deep buckets, The earthquake, Island kops, Leap of faith, The hourglass and many more. The high rope courses are basically preferred for a team building activity because they meat developmental, recreational and educational goals. Some of the commonly believed results of this activity are:

Increase self confidence of the individual

Builds the cooperation between the team members

Test the decision making capacity of an individual

Builds trust among each other

Invents leaderships quality

Enhances team work

Capability to decide and set goals for the task

Clay Pigeon Shooting Games

Clay pigeon shooting is also known as Inanimate Bird Shooting. Its is nothing but skill to shoot on clay made pigeons or other clay made flying targets, with a shotgun (usually) or any other type of arm. Lots of concentration and a sharp eye sight are required for this sporting activity. Each person in the team is given a chance to make a shot and the entire team can guide him through.

In the shooting game a team of 6 people or less is made and an instructor is allocated to each team to guide them through the complete process, teach them the technique. Attention, willpower and passion are a key to the success for this game. These requirements make clay pigeon shooting an ideal activity for a team building event. It is also an ideal choice for both men and women.

Buying a Business – The First Steps

So you are thinking of buying a business? Congratulations. With redundancies still rife in the UK, more and more people are coming to the conclusion that maybe – just maybe – it’s better to head your own business instead of relying on other people to bring in the money. From that moment that you decide to buy a business, it’s just an idea. There are so many questions buzzing around your head. What are the advantages? What’s in it for me? More to the point, what are the potential problems? What you need to do is sit down and consider the following key issues:

What sort of business do you want to buy?

You will need to focus on what sort of business you would like to buy into. Draw on both your past work experiences and your interests. You may well want to buy a business that you have great knowledge of but have little or no experience of working in that sector. Make sure that you are fully capable of running the business you want to buy into. You need to be absolutely confident that you can make it a huge success.

Do you want to buy a business or a franchised business?

There is a difference. A franchised business will have several chains across the country, and will probably have a well-known brand name. This is a good advantage when it comes to buying into a franchise. People return to a business time and again if they recognise and trust a brand name. You will also have greater support. If you are going into business for the first time, then this could be a considerable plus point, since the franchisor will be there to “hold your hand” as it were. The franchisor will normally deal with training, marketing and will be able to provide you with clients the moment you begin work. There will also be other franchisees to turn to for advice and support.

However, the downside is that you are still technically working for someone else rather than running your own show. If you own your own business, it is up to you how you proceed, and if there are any changes that you wish to make, then you are free to do so. A franchisor, however, makes the decisions. The other downside, of course, is that, in very rare cases, the franchise, for whatever reason, can go out of business – whether it’s affected by management issues or other franchisees rocking the boat. As I said, these are very rare cases, but you need to take all this into account when making your decision.

Do I have enough money?

Buying a business or a franchise will, in most cases, require a hefty sum. Look at how much money you have. If you have been made redundant recently, you may have received a sizeable payoff. You may have inherited money. Or you may find that you already have the means to buy a business. If not, however, then all is not lost. You can visit your bank to apply for a loan to buy the business. You will need to draw up a convincing business plan, outlining your expectations and profit margins. In the case of a franchise or a well-established business, banks will look favourably upon this, but as long as your plan has enough credibility, then this may still work. But make sure that you have enough money to proceed – if you are buying a business, you will also need to pay for surveyors, lawyers and accountants.

Is there a risk in buying a business?

This is where you need to do considerable research. Make a shortlist of the businesses that you are interested in. When you have whittled them down, find out all you can about them. What sort of track record do they have? Have they made the business a success? Or are there any incidents or problems that may prove a problem? You need to weigh up all the pros and cons and most importantly assess the risk factor when buying a new business – in order to make sure that you don’t buy a business White Elephant.

Will I be happy with the new business?

That’s one of the most important criteria that you need to consider. Will buying a business fulfil your career dream? Will it allow you to progress and allow you to develop your skills to the point where you achieve your goal? Will your chosen business allow you to do these things? Buying a business will be one of the most important things that you do in your life, so make sure that you get your choice spot on the first time.

Build Credibility in Your Business

Credibility is something you will want to strive for in your business. People are often skeptical if they are not familiar with an online or off-line business. To build your business and move toward success you need to work to be trustworthy and credible. When people choose to buy from a business or individual it is often from a brand they are familiar with and have come to trust.

So how do you go about building credibility on the Internet to build your business and move toward success? One of the most important ways is to be consistent. You can’t work for a week and then take 3 weeks off. People will forget about you and you will be seen as someone who is not taking their business seriously. Also keep consistent in the quality and style of your work. If you are all over the place it will be hard for you to build a brand and build credibility.

Giving value and sharing knowledge is another way to improve your credibility. When you are giving valuable information that helps others you build trust with people. Try to put together articles, posts, and videos with the intention of nothing else but to help others and share your knowledge. When you start doing this on a regular basis people will come to trust you and your credibility will increase. You will start to become a respected and trusted source for information.

Always be truthful and honest with your customers. People can tell when you are not being upfront or lying. If you made a mistake don’t be afraid to fess up. In most cases I have found that people will respect and trust you a lot more if you are honest about mistakes rather than making up an excuse.

Follow through on what you have promised. Nothing will make you lose your credibility faster than making promises you don’t deliver on. Always try to under promise and over deliver.

Building your credibility does not happen over night as it takes repeated, consistent action to build. Remember that a few bad slip ups can cause you to quickly lose the credibility you have worked hard to build. To take your business to the next level and achieve great success work hard on anything you can do to build your credibility.

Keep in mind that everything you do for your business will influence how your business is perceived. Bring consistent value, great customer service, honesty and always follow through and you will be on your way to building the credibility you need to catapult your business toward success.
